What is an abortion?
An abortion is a medical procedure in which the pregnancy is terminated prematurely. A legal distinction is made between
- Non-illegal abortion
If there is a medical or criminological indication (e.g. following a sexual offense), the procedure is permitted by law.
Good to know: ZF BKK will cover the full costs in this case. - Non-punishable but illegal abortion
If there is no indication, the abortion is exempt from punishment under certain conditions, but the costs must always be borne by the patient.
In special financial emergencies, we will check with you whether the costs can be covered by the federal state.
Counseling - a prerequisite for every abortion
Free counseling is required by law before an abortion. This takes place in recognized pregnancy conflict counselling centres - close to where you live and confidential.
