MRI of the prostate
Early detection with high accuracy
Prostate cancer is the most common type of cancer in men. Early and precise diagnosis can be crucial for successful treatment. Multi-parametric magnetic resonance imaging (mpMRI) of the prostate provides high-resolution images and allows an exact assessment of the tissue - for greater certainty when planning treatment.

How to receive the benefit
A referral from a urologist or an internist specializing in hematology and oncology is required for this examination. The examination may only be performed by a radiologist who participates in the healthcare network.

Good to know
After the initial examination, up to three further check-ups or repeat participations are possible in addition to the initial examination.
Repeat participation is only possible if medically justified. This is based on the results of the previous MRI.
Depending on the classification of the findings, the first follow-up is recommended within a period of 6 to 24 months.
Further participation is also possible if a specialist urological risk assessment has been carried out and renewed participation is deemed medically necessary and confirmed accordingly.
