Travel costs
In the event of illness or injury, it is sometimes not possible to get to the doctor or hospital on your own. We support you in such situations and, under certain conditions, will cover your travel costs.

- Reimbursement of travel costs for inpatient hospital treatment
- Reimbursement of costs for outpatient treatment in exceptional cases
- Reimbursement of travel costs in connection with medical rehabilitation (outpatient and inpatient) if we are the funding body for the measure
Ideally, please contact us before you start your journey so that we can clarify together whether and which travel costs will be reimbursed.
Additional payments
If the travel costs are covered, you must make an additional payment. The statutory co-payment is 10% of the travel costs, but at least €5 and at most €10 per journey. This applies to
- Journeys to inpatient hospital treatment
- Outpatient treatment (if this avoids or shortens an inpatient stay)
- Journeys by ambulance or rescue vehicle (one way)
