School fruit for Ravensburg Community School

Krankenversicherung

An apple a day: Healthy eating is now a practical reality for pupils at Ravensburg Community School South. The health insurance company ZF BKK is supporting the school as part of a cooperation agreement with regular, six-monthly deliveries of fresh, regional apples. The apple delivery complements the "Superpower Nutrition" project implemented last year, which teaches fifth-grade students the basics of a balanced and everyday diet.

With its current commitment, ZF BKK is going one step further and bringing healthy eating directly into everyday school life. Representatives of ZF BKK, Laura Erb and Laura Hegener, emphasized at the handover how important it is not only to teach health knowledge in theory, but also to make it tangible: "Children should learn how good fresh food tastes and how easy healthy eating can be in everyday life."

The apples come from regional fruit growers and thus also stand for sustainability and short transport routes. In addition to promoting the health of the students, this also supports local producers.

Headmistress Dunja Hahn expressed her gratitude for the support: "Healthy eating is an integral part of our educational work. Through such collaborations, we can integrate health, sustainability, and responsibility into everyday school life in a very concrete way." Weekly apple deliveries are planned for the next six months and will be distributed to students during study periods. The cooperation between Ravensburg Community School and ZF BKK is to be further expanded. Further joint projects are planned, including on the topics of sustainability and media literacy.
