PIN and PUK for the eGK

Your access to digital health applications

You do not need a PIN for your electronic health card (eGK) for normal visits to the doctor. However, if you want to use digital applications such as the electronic patient file (ePA) or the e-prescription, your PIN becomes the key technology: you authorize yourself securely with your health card - contactless and protected.

Good to know

PUK for unlocking

If you have forgotten or blocked your PIN, you can use the PUK to set a new PIN - currently only within the ePA app.

Change PIN

With an NFC-enabled device and the CAN number printed on your eGK, you can change your PIN at any time via the app.

Safety standard

Your PIN/PUK will only be sent to you personally after successful identification. This protects your data.

Important

  • Check the condition of the PIN/PUK letter on receipt - contact us immediately if the seal is damaged.
  • Your PIN is confidential - our employees never ask for it.
  • Is your PIN known to third parties or has the letter not arrived? Contact us immediately - we will issue you a new card with a new PIN/PUK.
