  • High-quality care via certified contractual partners

What are aids?

Assistive products are objects that are required in individual cases to ensure the success of medical treatment by replacing, supporting or relieving the patient, to prevent an impending disability or to compensate for a disability.

This includes, for example

  • Visual and hearing aids
  • prostheses
  • orthopaedic shoes
  • wheelchairs
  • Incontinence and stoma articles

How to obtain the benefit

Your doctor will issue you with a prescription for the aid you need.

An approved contractual partner of your choice (e.g. pharmacy, medical supply store, optician or acoustician) submits the prescription to us together with a cost estimate.

We will check your application carefully.

After our approval, you will receive your prescribed aid.

Your benefits from our approved contractual partners

We have concluded agreements with selected contractual partners that guarantee you a high-quality supply. As a result, you benefit from tested quality, comprehensive service and straightforward processing - without any additional effort on your part.

Good to know

A statutory co-payment applies to medical aids. This is:

  • 10% of the price, minimum €5 and maximum €10 per aid

For consumable aids, e.g. incontinence products, a co-payment of 10% of the price up to a maximum of €10 is payable. If you are exempt from the co-payment, this will not apply.

A co-payment of 10% of the price up to a maximum of €25 is payable for care aids, e.g. home emergency call. If you are exempt from the co-payment, this is not applicable.

If you choose an aid that goes beyond what is necessary, you will have to bear the additional costs and any consequential costs yourself.

For certain aids, e.g. orthopaedic shoes, a co-payment is required. This co-payment is payable regardless of any exemption from co-payment
